Chris Dodson Thatching Services Ltd is a fourth generation, multi award winning master thatching company based in Cambridgeshire.

The Dodson family have been thatching for over 100 years, with Chris starting thatching full time in 1998, being taught by both his father and grandfather.

Chris started his own business in 2011, becoming a member of the East Midlands Master Thatchers Association shortly afterwards.

We use all main thatching materials, long straw, combed cereal straw and water reed, carrying out all thatching work, from minor repairs to full re-thatches. Clients include breweries, universities, schools, estate management, landlords as well as private home owners.

We are fully insured and references are always available.

Chris provides reports for pre purchases of thatched properties, insurance reports and investigative reports for solicitors and insurance companies.

Another service offered is providing CPD to professionals within the built heritage industry, from short lectures to full days CPD.
